Kanyakumari
district of Tamil Nadu state are the
traditional rubber growing areas accounting for 90 percent of rubber
production in over all tamilnadu state. The only rubber growing district in Tamil Nadu is
Kanyakumari District. In Kanyakumari District 19233 ha rubber plantation
are available which produce 24020 tonnes of rubber annually. India is
No.4 among the top ten rubber producing countries. Kerala state is leading
rubber producer in India. TamilNadu
contributes another 3% ofthe total natural rubber production in india.
